Julie Statland
Julie Statland joined Statland & Katz in 1989 as a client service representative after having first worked for a major carrier and a competitor. Julie advanced to sales and marketing and then became a full partner at Statland & Katz in 1997. Julie continued the Statland & Katz, philosophy and tradition of community service. She is past chair of The Silver Spring Chamber of Commerce and a leading force in the community through her work with Community Bridges, The Silver Spring Takoma Thunderbolts baseball team, and Pyramid Atlantic. Joining forces with Joseph W. McCartin Insurance, Inc. in early 2017 has allowed Julie to concentrate on her true passions: community outreach and sales, especially helping those who wish to provide for their loved ones or protect their business via life insurance.

Mike McCartin
Mike McCartin joined Joseph W. McCartin Insurance, Inc., the parent company of Statland & Katz, Ltd., in 1990. Joseph W. McCartin Insurance, Inc. was founded in 1967 by Mike’s father, Joseph. Mike is licensed in Property & Casualty and Life & Health and earned his CPCU designation. Mike took over the agency in 1998 and is currently the managing partner.
Mike is very active in insurance industry trade associations. As an industry leader, he regularly serves on boards and donates his time to groups that set standards and promote best practices for the insurance industry.

In addition to his involvement in the insurance industry, Mike maintains an active interest in the landscaping community, as well. He obtained a BS in Horticulture from the University of Maryland. He is a past president and currently serves on the board of the Landscape Contractors Association of Maryland, DC, and Virginia and wrote a regular column in Groundwork, its magazine.
